I am a long term resident of Puhoi with an interest in retaining some it's colorful history --- in fact, I have written several books about Puhoi and the surrounding area.
Growing up among 2nd and 3rd generations supplied me with a bounty of the inner warmth emitted from their knowledge of the real pioneer spirit they encountered in the valley.
I am aware of the changes taking place at present in Puhoi and I have reservations about the future of the traditional customs, many of which have disappeared with time. However, I also realize this is the future that the pioneers set out to create: progress and security for their descendants.
We now have an influx of others who are happy to enjoy the stability Puhoi offers.

Now here's an interesting question. If the Church needed a marquee for the Mass, who would pay for the marquee? The Church?
ReplyDeleteI was under the impression it is a Community celebration, not a Church celebration. Comments?
